Reflecting on my journey as a designer, I'm often asked if I have a favorite project. The answer? Not exactly. I don’t have a single favorite, but there are milestones I hold dear—moments that define my growth and form the narrative of my creative journey.

Here are some that stand out:

1. First Paid Design Project: bpTT Employee Daycare Logo
My first paid design project came while I was still a student at Queen's Royal College (QRC). I was commissioned to design the logo for bpTT’s Employee Daycare. That project not only put some money in my pocket (enough for me to buy my favorite Nike Geo football at the time!), but it also introduced me to the world of professional design. Being featured in the company’s employee magazine was a turning point—one of those pivotal moments that made me realize I was on the right path.

2. First Public Space Design Project: Trinidad & Tobago City Corporations
I was honored to work on a project updating and vectorizing the badges for each City Corporation throughout Trinidad & Tobago. Contracted by the late Chief Petty Officer William Villaroel, I learned so much from this experience. I had been proficient in Photoshop, but this project required Illustrator, pushing me to quickly upskill to ensure that the badges retained their integrity whether they were scaled for stickers or billboards. This project taught me the value of working autonomously and trusting the tools available to me—a vital lesson in adaptability and precision.

3. First Experiential Event Outside of Fêtes and Parties: NAKiD
This was a project that began with a bold vision. The wife of a colleague reached out to me after seeing the logo I designed for an event space in Trinidad. She wanted to create an immersive experience to help people overcome fears and pursue excellence. At our first meeting, she pitched the event name, "Naked." I suggested a twist—NAKiD—symbolizing the challenge for attendees to shed societal labels and perceptions and embrace their true identities. This project was all-encompassing, from brand identity to banners, and culminated in a successful event launch at the Hyatt Regency in Trinidad. Seeing my work brought to life in such a meaningful way was incredibly rewarding.

Each of these milestones is a reminder of how much I’ve grown, and I’m excited about the future and the chance to create more memorable projects. Here’s to many more milestones and to collaborating with incredible clients who inspire me.
